In order to develop appropriate transportation facilities within a realistic financial framework,
we believe it is necessary to:
- Optimize use of existing transportation facilities;
- Appropriately increase the capacity of existing systems, and;
- Apply new technology to increase system efficiency and safety
Transmetrics provides a complete range of services in the alternatives analysis process including
transportation systems definition, planning optimization, and financial evaluation of:
- Light, heavy, high speed, intercity and commuter rail transit;
- Buses and exclusive bus-ways;
- High occupancy vehicle lanes, IVHS technology; and
- Road and highways and associated transportation facilities
Our understanding of current techniques and technologies is the direct result of the many transportation
studies we have completed. By applying information derived from these studies, our design staff,
(in conjunction with their growing knowledge of systems integration), constantly upgrade their technical
skills in the development of transportation alternatives analysis, plans and final designs. |

The City of Palmdale commissioned this study to (1) investigate tunneling-related risks; potential
effect on high-speed rail project cost and schedule (2) identification of the best route alignment
through Tehachapi Mountains with respect to minimizing capital cost, risk of construction cost overrun,
and project delay.
